ZELMA’S BABY
Nineteen thirtynine
Brownsville Tennessee
Zelma’s little baby
Might has been a queen
She's been a private dancer
Couldn't stand the rain
Used all her female attraction
On a typical male
Anna Mae
Golden Eye and Thunderdome
Forever she will be
Don't need another hero
She‘s still beautiful to me
Today in Nutbush City
Are no limits anymore
Zelma’s little baby
She broke every rule
Anna Mae
I WON’T COME BACK
Your life seems pretty easy
Painted in black and white
I’m standing on the wrong side
You’re standing on the right
Mine‘s much more complicated
Ain't easy to divide
In up and down and good and bad
I hardly can decide
I won’t come back
I won’t step back
I won’t come back to you
I still hear your warning
My pride will have a fall
Your crying, burning, yearning
I don't care at all
No, I don‘t care (about your crying)
No, I don‘t care (about your burning)
No, I don‘t care (about your yearning)
No, I don‘t care at all
You made up your mind
You follow your light
You’re living for tomorrow
I’m living for tonight
YOU ARE NOT THE ONE
I wake up in the morning
Nothing seems to be like before
Take a look in the mirror
Don't even know myself anymore
My upside's tumbling down
And all my dreams' blown away
Looking for a place to hide
For a little bit of yesterday
You are not the one
It ain't that easy
Find yourself lying on the ground
I'm looking for the reasons
But no reasons can be found
There's nothing to explain
But that's life
There will be another morning
I'm alive
D.E.W.
Daniel Edmond Williams
Was about 14 years
As he started working
In B. Daly's Distillery
In eighteen eightyseven
He started something new
Still you can hear him saying
Give every man his Dew
(we need)
More money and faster cars
Younger women and older whiskey for you
More money and faster cars
Younger women and older whiskey for me
Daniel got a grandson
Desmond was his name
Met him last years summer
In a cabin by a lake
He's a real Irish fellow
Independent all the way
Put wolfhounds on Dew's bottle
Where they still remain today
SWEET LIES
Lies, sweet lies
For more than kissing
Lies, sweet lies
Tomorrow I am missing
Lies, sweet lies
For more than kissing
Lies, sweet lies, sweet lies
If I'd say, I love you
I want you to be mine
Wouldn't that sound sweet
Wouldn't that be fine
If I'd say, you are
The very only one
The one I'll keep forever
You'll never see me gone
If I'd say I need
Someone special by my side
One love that lasts forever
'til sun and moon collide
I know you heard these words
A thousand times before
And you don't really care about
You wanna hear some more
FULL TIME JOB
Standing in front of me
With a red dress on
Brown eyes looking at me
The devil's done
24/7
Little whirlwind
No slow down ever
At any time
It is a full time job
No one can ever do
It is a full time job
For your mum, your dad to do
To keep on looking after you
Thunder and lightning
A sunny smile
No way to enchain her
Don't even try
24/7
Little whirlwind
No slow down ever
At any time
SEND HER BACK
If she doesn't like the party
She doesn't even like your friends
If she only loves your money
You'll better find an end
If she doesn't like your songs
She doesn't even like your blues
If your love is long gone
You know what you gotta do
You better put her in packet
And you gotta send her back to her Ma
If she's listening to Madonna
And to Michael Jackson too
If she doesn't like Nirvana
And she doesn't like The Who
If she's dancing to the Hip Hop
And she doesn't like the Stones
If she doesn't like Bob Marley
But she's listening to Tom Jones
If she doesn't like your living
If she doesn't like your clothes
If she doesn't like your kissing
If she doesn't like your mouth
If she doesn't like the party
She doesn't even like your friends
If she only loves your money
You'll better find an end
YOU WON’T BRING ME DOWN
Driving down south in a BMW
My guitar's on the backseat
But I forgot my shoes
Speed is getting faster
I left you way behind
Message' getting clearer
A smiling on my mind
You won't bring me down
Whatever you do, wherever you go
You won't bring me down
Don't care anymore, you are around
The south is getting nearer
My home is far away
You're sitting in your office
Counting money all the day
I know living is expensive
I won't ignore the truth
But living would be easy
So easy without you
The radio is playing my favorite song
You can't always get what you want
I keep on driving, driving down south
But the main thing is, you won't bring me down
